What’s new for 6th Graders? S.G.O.!!

6th Graders remain under the umbrella of the Children’s Ministries Department for the full school year. They will then make the transition to the Student Ministry Department in early July.

6th Graders will be able to continue to participate in Alpha-Omega Kids, which meets Thursdays from 4-7 PM until they move up. In January they will be eligible for a service elective in which they will help with dinner set-up and preparation, as well as other service opportunities.

There will be two Thursday evening meetings each month beginning in October. S.G.O. (Sixth Grade Only) will meet on the second and third Thursdays from October to June. For the most part the 2nd Thursday meeting will focus on Christian service and the 3rd Thursday will include a fun activity. There may be off campus trips as well. 6th graders and their parents may decide whether or not to attend both A-OK and the evening meetings, as it is a big time commitment (4-8:30 PM) but they are encouraged to do so. We’ve found that this format helps junior high students stay with Jesus during the tough times!
