Carol’s Corner: New Year Fun!
By Carol Lee
Children’s Ministry people are always on the look-out for fun and we think we have a great event coming up. The “First Annual FPCH Pinewood Derby” will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2007. This event is an idea that came from one of the Alpha-Omega Kids Super Skills Workshops—the Pinewood Derby Car class. Brian Gantz and Laura Coon lead this very popular workshop. Every month a new group of 12 kids make their own car and then race against each other. We started planning a big race day for A-OK and then thought that it might be fun to include the whole church! Car kits will be available to purchase in mid January. Have a car that you made in the past? Dust it off and bring it down! There will be lots of fun categories to enter, and the Men’s Ministry will be hosting the Chili Cook-Off as well, so there will be awesome food and the fun of deciding which chili is best! It will be great day! Watch the Sunday bulletin in January for details. Would you like to be a part of this ministry? Let me know– either call (510) 581-6203, ext. 211 or email me– carol@fpch.net. Please consider this your personal invitation to minister to others!
Speaking of ministering to others, one excellent way to be part of the ‘frontline’ on Sunday mornings is to serve as a Sunday Receptionist in the Children’s Ministry Department. We have openings during both services. Our receptionist team is vital to helping our visitors feel comfortable and welcome. If you like to meet new people, enjoy seeing children learn about Jesus and can serve one hour per month, you are invited to be a part of our team! We need you—Jesus needs you!
God bless you!
